I don’t undestand when this, can some one explain me? DO LIENS SURVIVE THE ISSUANCE OF A TAX DEED?
FloridaStatute 197.552 provides, in part, “..except as
specifically provided in this chapter, no right,
interest, restriction, or other convenant shall survive
the issuance of a tax deed, except that a lien of
record held by a municipal or county government
unit, when such lien is not satisfied as of the
disbursement of proceeds of sale under the
provisions of s.197.582, shall survive the issuance
of a tax deed…”

If there is a lien placed on a person’s real property for unresolved state income tax, what does that mean? (The state is Michigan.)
I know it means that if the property is sold, the state must get paid what’s due to them out of the proceeds of the sale.
Can the state force sale of a home for lien on income tax? Or can they only force sale of a property for unpaid property tax?

My wife and I are buying a house. My parents in law want to invest in this house too, so are putting 0k into it (cash). We will get the balance via a mortgage and will live in the house paying all living expenses. Parents in law are doing this purely as an investment, meaning that when we sell in a few years they want to extract their profit relative to how much of the property they own.
We want to make sure we can take advantage of mortgage interest tax deductions, homestead exemption etc. They want to make sure they don't have to pay tax on any profit they make.
How do we do this? Do they 'gift' us the money, then after we close do a Quitclaim deed? if we do that, when we sell the house can we split the proceeds any way we want?
Or do we do this as an 'on-demand' loan from them?
Or do we do this as a joint investment and close together?
It seems more complicated than it needs to be.

How to minimize tax burden on $ "inherited" from property sold to gas company. Land was deeded to grandchildren about a decade ago. Royalities from gas production have been split evenly during this time. They now have a buyer. How should proceeds be handled after distribution? Is this considered an inheritance? capital gain from sale? Are there certain ways to invest it that are better than other? short-term and long-term benefits? Pros or Cons?
